At Pack and Clowder Vets, our puppy classes are a hoot and run 6 times per year for 4 weeks. We will discuss topics including:
- Dog behaviour and how to communicate with your new best friend.
- Settling into a new home
- Preventative health care
- Diet
- Dental care
- Play/enrichment
- Toileting
- Basic training
- Dog first aid, including dealing with choking and CPR
- Park etiquette
- Local dog-friendly spaces
We are a Fear-Free clinic, which focuses on minimising anxiety during veterinary care. While your puppy is young, we will help them to develop their ‘clinic-ready’ skills to make clinic visits less stressful.
- Offering a leg (in case blood sampling is ever required)
- Jumping onto our scales
- Having a nail trim
- Being comfortable with hair clippers
- Having their eyes, ears, mouth and paws examined
The crucial time for puppy socialisation is 3-12 weeks. This is the most influential stage in a puppy’s life relative to behaviour patterns and learning. Dogs of this age are not fully vaccinated, and puppy classes allow your friend to socialise in a safe environment during this critical time.
